Knot count isn't high, it is a little less than 400kpsi, but is a larger rug 6X8. Is it a silk qum or some other type if Iranian rug or non-silk. I hate to put $1,000 on the table and be proven wrong. It is from a private party making no claims since they have no knowledge.

Looks very attractive if it is silk

Thanks, I need to know by noon on Monday.

After I posted the above I found out the person has sent me the wrong pictures. The attached rug is much finer and does leave the questions I had at first I would think this rug is silk.

Btuma6, Did you buy this rug? If so, post some more photos...what did you ever do with that nice Esfahan you scored at the auction?

Yes, I did buy it,just got it and found out it's a silk onsilk qum. I'll post some pictures tomorrow morning.
Sold the isfahan and a heriz I got at the same auction at Christie's auction in New York. Interesting and learning process. It cost a far amount including money to put it in the auction. Over half the rugs didn't sell and the sellers had to absorb around $600. I did sell both and after deducting all my expenses and purchase price I made $8,200 which will never happen again, but does pay for all the other rugs I have on my floor. Most of the money came from the isfahan which sold for $10,000 including buyer's premium/

Looking forward to seeing your new rug! Congrats on selling the other rugs, I don't remember the Heriz, but the Isfahan was beyond beautiful. Glad you were able to make some $$$$ off of them...it would be fun to hear about the selling process at Christies's, sounds interesting, I know nothing about it...
