Hi,
I have another rug I need help with to ID. It too may be Persian mid 20th century I think, with cotton backing, but not sure. Also what is its approximate value? It has had some repair to it on the side and there is a little more wear and missing fringe. It measures about 6.5' x 4'. I appreciate any help.

Very beautiful rug. Rather end 19th or early 20th century than mid 20th. Comes from Arak area (Sarouk, Farahan). The small scaterred flowers in the inner field remind of Jozan rugs. Very lovely and unusual light green border. Value is not so high due to worn condition, might bring $500 if you find a collector. I would spend some money in it to have it restored by a real pro with reconstructed edges and fringes including the missing parts, and you would be surprised what a beauty will show. This would only make sense if there are no dry areas or other defects.

A beautiful old Persian Farahan, but with the problems shown in images, I would say that a professional repair would cost a bit more than is economically feasible to spend on this rug.

Agree with rugfirm about the cost of restoration, if done it would cost quite a bit, but then it would be a great rug for a collection.
