Hello, I acquired this beauty as a gift from a friend that is no longer with us. He never had the chance to use it and unfortunately I do not have the space and // or decor to use it.
Here is a link to some pictures of it, as I am hoping to get it appraised(I have emailed several appraisers with no luck). However I did see the price tag which at the time I was told it was the wholesale tag $13kUSD. This rug has been only been used for a week if that because I decided it was too nice // I did not want to ruin it. This rug is perfect for a well lit room, it literally shimmers // glows from the silk, I wish I could keep it but I really need the cash right now.
I don't have much info on this rug other than the fact that it is silk and it is Persian, I was told that it contains the highest knots per square inch possible. It is also in brand new condition, as stated is has been laid down for less than a week and after that I rolled it up(with the grain) and packaged it in plastic.
The measurements are 54x82 inches.

If you have any info // questions and // or suggestions on how I should go about selling it please let me know.

You where told most facts about your rug in your earlier posting about it. If you need an appraisal - there are many experts out there who will help you. You can find some experts here:
ORRA INC APPRAISERS
I have no doubt they will appraise your rug if you have agreed with them about the costs of the appraisal.

Short info about your rug:
Iranian Qum silk, Pile silk, warp silk, weft most likely cotton. Made sometime in the 1980`s. Handknotted, usually rugs this type are not the finest quality, usually between 460 and 550 kpsi. Nice design that was typical in the period when this rug was made. Forget the pricetag, it has newer had such value. Today a rug like this brings somewhere between $ 1500 and $ 2000 if you can find someone who knows how good it is. On ebay you may find qums for less, but then often with damages or in very used condition. Yours is an original and like new, this should be considered pricing it. For a little more you can already buy new qum rugs, so be aware that the prices I listed are on the upper end of the pricerange for a rug selling private.

I think KAD is giving you a complete description of your rug. I may just add that an official appraisal is not likely to help you sell it, as it usually states a replacement value for insurance purposes, normally much higher than the current market value. Also, newer Persian silk rugs are so much better as far as colors and patterns, and they are available at very reasonable prices. I will not recommend ebay for this type of rug, but I would try advertising in local newspapers to find a private buyer for it. As for the value, I agree with KAD. Good luck.
