the rug measures 7'6" by 4'10"
seems to be hand woven, no identifing marks(i think), and centered well.
i went thru the RugRag identifier program but maybe someones eye can do a better job :)

This is a Turkish hand-knotted rug with a pattern close to a Persian Kerman, a cotton foundation and a wool pile. It should be around 50 years old and seems to be in a good condition. Post any other questions you might have about it.

Thank you for your response! If you have the time, what were the details that led you to that conclusion? Ive been trying to teach myself a little about rugs now that i have one, but reading internet info isnt the same. :)

Thanks again!

Your rug is a turkish Kayseri rug. It is handknotted, as RugFirm wrote the foundation is cotton. From the pictures it is not clear to me that the pile is wool. Often it is that these rugs have a pile of mercericed cotton (like viscose) that has a shine a bit like silk. The rug is nice in color and seems to be in good condition.

I think the rug will not get a high price. On picture 3 you can see white spots on the upper light blue corner - a typical sign for worn pile. A personal inspection by a person familiar with rugs and their value could give you more and better info than what we can see online.

The weave from the back, colors, and the doubled selvage on the sides show what this rug is. It is a good looking rug, but I do not think you could get more than $500-$600 for it. There just isn't a strong market for them. If it is in a good condition and the pile shows no worn or low spots, I recommend you keep it.
